 Echo and Tim

Hi.
We are Murray and Lorraine Handley.  We have 2 sons Jonathan (26) and Tim(25)

In November 2019 we decided it was time for a change in lifestyle.
We moved from the hills of Whakamarama, Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, to our new forever home in the outskirts of Dannevirke. ( which happens to be my home town and a place I never thought I'd return to, but never the less here we are). Which is half way between Napier and Wellington.
We have a super home and a few acres and are on 4.2 acres along with our 10 Goldens and a Cat called Simba (who keeps the dogs breakfast plates full by bringing rabbits home).

For 24 odd years Murray run Allandale Bobcats, our business specialising in the new development of both new and existing Avocado orchards. and the normal bobcat work...
He was also heavily involved in our other business We- Dig-It Landscapes. formerly Girls Gardening Ltd.  A super  landscape and garden maintenance business which I started up and ran for 23 years ago.  with many of our gardens and designs entered into prestigious  Garden and Arts festival over the years.

Murray's new venture as a super photographer and has already been published.. www.muzzpix.com is his website is well worth a visit.. Prints and canvases can also be ordered from his site and are proving very popular.

German Shepherds,  Afghan Hounds and Labs  had been in our lives as favoured pets, until in March 2002 a beautiful little 7 1/2 week old Golden Retriever we named Azra,  aka. NZ Show Champion Cambermere Ezra Holy Whisper came into our lives... Myself and Helen Young, the owner of Azra's mum and her new puppy Anna, decided to give the show ring a try... will I was hooked and my life long passion for Golden Retrievers flourished..

I love showing my dogs and Azra was the best dog to start with.  He is the first into the car and just is the best show off with that" look at me attitude" he has never tired of showing off....with many dog challenges of which the first 8 made him a Show Champion, dozens of Best Of Breed placings, and many In Group and In Show placings. His best being RESERVE BEST IN SHOW at the Hamilton all breeds show with  around 850 dogs entered and Azra was 2nd.... What a buzz.  I had left my lights on that morning and my battery was flat when we went to leave but that was a minor detail, we drove home on cloud nine.
Azra was still winning, with his last ribbon being 'Veteran In Show' at the Golden Retriever Club Champion Show on the 14th August 2010 and"Veteran In Show" at BOP Gundog show on the 10 October 2010.
He was a proven Stud dog, produced lovely progeny. and lives on  thru my kennel today. and was my inspiration.

For anyone thinking of breaking into the show ring...
Give it a go...
Goldie people are great and helpful and always willing to give you tips and guidance ..  Its always good to go and watch a few shows and don't be put off if you ask questions as we are going into the show ring... just wait till later...
We love talking about our dogs and showing.!!!

Azra having a love affair with the Judge, Indi his son in front and Bronach his daughter sucking up to the judge as well.
